dartpilot ("we", "us") provides automatic dart tracking and scoring through a desktop app and a web app for homes, clubs, and venues. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Contact us atsupport@dartpilot.app.
Data we collect
- Account data: your email, name or display name, and sign-in method when you create an account. You can sign in with email and password, Google, GitHub, or a passkey.
- Play data: games, darts, scores, sessions, seasons, ratings, and achievements. We link this to your account so your stats follow you. If you delete your account, games you shared with others stay in their history with your identity removed.
- Board data: the boards you pair or connect, their settings, and when they were last online.
- Product analytics: how the app is used, for example that a board was set up or that a game was started. These events hold identifiers only (your account id, board id, game type) and small values, such as the campaign tag or website domain that first brought you to dartpilot and which installer you downloaded. They do not hold names, emails, free text, full web addresses, or IP addresses.
- Diagnostics: device, browser, and operating system details plus error reports, which our error-monitoring provider uses to find and fix problems.
- Email: when we send a notification or invitation, our email provider processes the message and your address to deliver it.
Cameras
We do not receive or store camera footage. The desktop app captures dartboard images on your device, detects the darts there, and sends only scores and dart positions. Board images are not uploaded to our servers.
How we use and share data
We use account and play data to run the service: signing you in, scoring games, syncing boards, and showing stats, rankings, and achievements. We use product analytics to see which games and flows work so we can improve them, and diagnostics to keep the service secure and reliable. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
We share data with service providers who help us run dartpilot, and only as needed:
- Cloudflare for hosting, database, and object storage.
- Resend for transactional email such as organization invitations.
- An error-monitoring provider for crash and error reports.
- A payment provider for paid plans.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect the service and our users.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small number of cookies that are needed for the service to work: a sign-in session cookie and a cookie that keeps your board reads consistent. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The desktop app keeps its diagnostics on your device.
International transfers
We and our providers may process your data in countries other than your own. We take steps to protect it wherever it is processed.
How long we keep data
Account and play data stay until you delete your account. Raw product-analytics events are kept for a bounded window (target 24 months) and then expire, while aggregate counts stay. Error and infrastructure logs are kept for our providers' default windows. When you delete your account, we remove your personal rows straight away and strip your identity from shared game history. Backups roll off within 30 days.
Security
We encrypt data in transit with TLS and use access controls to protect it, and we limit who can reach it. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your sign-in method safe and tell us if you spot a problem.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to:
- access and export the data we hold about you;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your account and personal data;
- object to or restrict certain processing; and
- complain to your data protection authority.
You can export and delete your data yourself from Profile, then Your data. For anything else, email support@dartpilot.app.
Children
dartpilot is not directed at children. If you are below the age at which you can consent to data processing where you live, a parent or guardian must manage your account and accept our terms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
